La Villetta is a very pretty restored house in Umbria with delicious
lake views, set in a
large garden with vines, fruit trees and olive grove - a wonderful
retreat
from the hustle and
bustle of everyday life. The house itself offers an eclectic mix of
antique
and modern styles and
has high ceilings and original features.
There is an elegant entrance
living hall, a spacious
comfortable living room, draped double bedroom, brand new kitchen,
utility
room and new
bathroom (shower). Extra day beds can be placed comfortably in both the
living room and
entrance living
hall. Accessed from the original exterior stairs there is a pretty double
bedroom with ensuite bathroom (shower) and a further single bedroom.
The house has a pretty patio area with table and chairs, and sun
loungers in the garden.
Totally tranquil, with no shared facilities, La Villetta
is secluded but not remote. The village of Porto is five
minutes away, while only fifteen minutes away is Castiglione del Lago on
Lake Trasimeno, which
offers superb restaurants, food shops, bars with lake views, and a
cinema.
Fifteen minutes in the
opposite direction is Chiusi.
There are several uncrowded swimming pools next to the lake with
wonderful
views, as well as locally water sports, horse riding, fishing and
cycling or
long walks through the magnificent countryside. The superb natural
environment of Monte Amiata, with its wildlife and natural spas in
the summer and skiing in the
winter, is a short drive away.
La Villetta is central to a wealth of historic towns and cities hosting
memorable festivals of
music theatre and art: Perugia, Orvieto and Siena are all within 45 minutes
drive. Just over an hour by train from Chiusi is Florence.
Facilities
The immaculately fitted kitchen has a hob and oven,
integrated
dishwasher, and large fridge/freezer. There is also a utility room
with washer/drier. Central heating.
